The original copy of this will is recorded in the book of Notarial Papers in the office of the Clerk of Albany County, New York. It is in Dutch and begins on page 296, extending to page 300. A direct translation from the Dutch is given here as it appears in An Account of Anneke Janse and Her Family, Albany, Joel Munsell, 1870.

In the name of the Lord, Amen, know all men, that on this 29th day of January, 1663, about four o'clock in the afternoon, before me, Dirck Van Schelluyne, Notary Public, and before the afterward named witnesses, personally came and appeared, the virtuous Anneke Jans, first, widow of Roeloff Janse Van Masterland, and now last, of the minister, Do. Everardus Bogardus, dwelling in the village of Beverwyck, (well known to us, notary and witnesses). She, the appearer, lying sick abed, but her senses, reason, memory and understanding perfectly strong, as is quite evident to us; which appearer, considering the shortness and frailty of human life, the certainty of death, and the uncertainty of the hour thereof, and wishing, therefore, to anticipate the same by a proper disposition of her temporal estate to be left behind, very deliberately declares, without inducement, persuasion or misleading of any person, that she has made, ordained and decreed this her present testament to be her last will; in manner following. First and beforehand, commending her immortal soul to the gracious and merciful hands of God, her Creator and Redeemer, and her body to a Christian burial, and revoking, cancelling and annulling, by these presents, all and every such testament disposition as she before the date of this may have made and executed, and making a new disposition. She, the appearer and testatrix, by these presents, nominates and institutes her children, to wit, Sara Roeloffse, wife of Mr. Hans Kierstede, Catrina Roeloffse, wife of Johannes Van Brugh, together with Jannetie and Rachel Hartgers, children of her daughter Sytge Roeloffse deceased, the late wife of Pieter Hartgers (jointly standing in their mother's place); item, her son, Jan Roeloffse, together with Willem, Cornelis, Jonas, and Pieter Bogardus, as the sole and universal heirs of the estate real and personal, claims, credits, gold and silver, coined and uncoined, jewels, clothing, linen and woolen, household furniture, nothing excepted or reserved, which she shall leave behind on her death, the same on her decease, to be equally divided among them and to be used as their own free estate without the opposition of any one:	In den name des Heeren Amen, Kennelick sy eenen yder, dat op huyden den 29 January 1663 des namiddachs de clocke ontrent vier uyren, voor my Dirck Van Schelluyne notaris publicq, ende voor de naergenoemde getuygen in eygener persoone gecompareent ende verschenen is, de Eerbaere Anneke Janse eerst weduwe van Roeloffe Janse Van Masterlant, end nu lest van predicant D° Everhardus Bogardus, woonende binnen den Dorpe Beverwyck (ons notaris en getuygen wel bekent), leggende sy, comparante, sieckelick te bedde, doch haere sinnen, redenen, memorie, ende verstant volcomen machtich soo ons uyterlick is gebleecken, welcke comparante over denckende de cort ende brosheit des menschen leven, de seeckerheit des doots, ende de onseeckere uyre van dien, ende willende daeromme de selve voorcomen met behoorlicke despositie over haere tydelicke naertelaten goederen, soo verclaerde sy, conparante, wel bedachtelick sonder inductie, persuatie, ofte misleydinge van ymanden, gemaecht, geordineert ende besloten te hebben dit haer jegenwoordige testament laetst ende uyterste wille in voegen en manieren als volcht: Bevolende eerst ende alvoorens haere onsterffelicke siele inde genadige en barmhartige handen Godts, haeren Schepper ende Salichmaecker, end haer lichaem de Christelicke begravinge, mitsgaders revokerende, casserende doot ende te niette doende by deses alle ende jegelicke soodanig testamentaire dispositien als sy voor dato deses gemaeckt ende gepasseert soude mogen hebben, ende van nieuws disponerende, verclaerde sy, comparante, testatrice by desen tot haer eenge ende universeele erfgenaemen te nomineren ende te institueren haere kinderen met namen Sara Roeloffse huysvrouw van Mr. Hans Kierstede, Catrina Roeloffse huysvrouw van Jahannes Van Brugh, mitsgaders Jannetie en Rachel Hargens kinderen van haer dochter Sytge Roeloffse Salr gewesen huysvrouw van Pieter Hartgers (tsamen by representie in haer moeders plaetse), Item haer soon Jan Roeloffse, mitsgaders Willem, Cornelis, Jonas ende Pieter, Bogaerdus; ende dat in alle de goederen, roerende, onroerende, actien, crediten, gelt gout silver gemunt en ongemunt, juweelen, cleederen linnen wollen, huysraet, geenige uytgesondert nochte gereseveert die sy metter doot ontruymen ende naerlaten sal, omme tselve nae haer overleyden onder maelcanderen by egale portien to deelen, en daer mede te doen als met hun vry eygen goet, sonder tegenseggen van ymanden.
with this express restriction and condition, nevertheless, that the said first four children shall first receive their bequest from their parental estate in a bouwery lying on Manhatan island, on the North River, the sum of one thousand guilders out of the value or receipts from said bouwery; and seeing that three of said [children] have received marriage outfits according to her ability; therefore, she, the appearer and testatrix, has made over and bequeathed to said Jan Roeloffse who is yet an unmarried man, one bed and a milch cow, and to Jonas and Pieter Bogardus, a house and lot standing and lying on the west side of her, the testatrix's, dwelling house, in said village of Beverwyck, in breadth reaching up to her chamber, and extending also in length back to the bleaching plat, together with a bed also for them both, and a milch cow for each; item, to Cornelis Bogardus also a bed and a milch cow; which [bequests] said children shall draw, for what the married children have received at their marriage.	Behoudens nochtans, met dese expresse restrictie en conditie dat de voors: eerste kinderen sullen voor afftrecken uythaere vaderlicke gooderen haer bewesen op een bouwerye gelegen opt Manhatans Eylant aen noort Rivier, de somme van een duysent guls ende dat uyt de opcomsten off de waerdye van selve Bouwerye; ende aengesien drye van selve ten huwelicken state nae haer vermogen uytgeset synde den gemelten Jan Roeloffse noch jongman soo heeft sy, comparante, testatrice aen den selven in tegendeel gemaeckt en gelegateert een bedde, en een melck koe, en aen Jonas en Pieter Bogaerdus een huysinge en erve staende en gelegen aende westerlicke syde van haer testatrices woonhuysinge in desen voors: dorpe Beverwyck streckende in breete tot aende camer van deselve, en vervolgens alsoo in lengte tot achter aen het bleyckvelt, mitsgaders noch een bedde voor haer beyden, en elck een melck koe, item aen Cornelis Bogaerdus mede een bedde en een melck kow, twelcke de selve kinderen verstrecken sal tegens tgene de gehouwde kinderen ten huwelicke hebben genoten.
Finally she, the testatrix, bequeathes also, to Roeloffse Kierstede, (her daughter Sara's child), a silver cup, to Annetie Van Brugh (her daughter Catrina's child), a silver cup, to Jannetie and Rachel Hartgers (her daughter Sytge's children), also a silver cup for each, to the child of Willem Bogardus, named Sytge, also a silver cup; all which, to be recovered in manner and form as above, the said children, legatees, shall first take and receive out of the first and readiest effects, and then come into a participation of the remainder of the estate in the same manner as the heirs above nominated and instituted. The foregoing, she, the appearer and testatrix, declared to be her last will and testament, wishing and desiring that the same after her death, shall bring forth its full force and effect, whether as testament, codicil, donation, gift for the sake of the deceased, or otherwise, as may be most suitable; notwithstanding that certain usages, required by law or custom, may not have been perfectly observed herein; requesting the the utmost advantage may be derived herefrom; and that one or more copies hereof, in the customary form, may be made and delivered by me, the notary.	Eyntelick soo legateert sy, testatrice, noch aen Roeloff Kierstede (haer dochter Sara's kind) een silveren beecker, aen Annetie Van Brugh (haer dochter Catrina's kint) een silveren beecker, aen Jannetie en Rachel Hartgers (haer dochter Sytges kinderen) mede elck een silveren beecker, en aen het kind van Willem Bogardus genaemt Sytge oock een silveren beecker; — allen twelcke de voors: kinderen gelegateerden in voegen en manieren als vooren verhaelt uyt de eerste ende gereetste goederen sullen voor afftrecken ende genieten, ende alsdan comen tot de deelinge vant overige des boedels in voeren gelyck de erfgenaemen hier boven syn genomineert en geinstitueert: — tgene voors: is verclaert sy, comparante ende testatrice, te wesen haer testament laetst ende uyterste wille, willende ende begeeren dat tselve nae haer overleyden syn volcomen cracht ende effect sorteren sal tsy als testament, codicille, donatie, gifte uyt saecke des doots, off anders soo tselve alderbest sal mogen bestaen, alwaert schoon soo dat eenige solemniteyten nae rechten ofte styl vereyst hier inne niet volcomen mochte wesen geobserveert, versoeckende de uyterste benefitie hier van te mogen genieten ende by my notario hier van gemaeckt ende gelevert te werden een off meer instrumenten ingewoonlicker forma.
Thus done and executed, at the house of the testatrix in the village of Beverwyck in New Netherland, in presence of the honorable Ruth Jacobse Van Schoednerwoert and Evert Wendel, old magistrates, called and invited as witnesses hereto.	Aldus gedaen ende gepasseert ten huyse van testatrice in den Dorpe Beverwyck in N. Nederlant ter presentie van de E. Ruth Jacobsen Van Schoenderwoert en Evert Wendel oude commissarissen als getuygen hiertoe versocht en geboden.
