Samuel Judson owned six acres of land and a few miscellaneous items in Connecticut when he died. Therefore, there are probate records for its disposal. They were found in the Connecticut State Library in Hartford as barely readable, handwritten probate records.

      In pursuance of an order of the Court of Probate for the District of Litchfield, dated May 4, 1830, authorizing & directing me to sell, either at public or private sale, the whole of this inventoried estate of Sam'l Judson late dec'd. I have in pursuance of s'd order, sold and conveyed to Eben Judson about six acres of land, situate in s'd Litchf'd in s'd District, for the Sum of Seventy two Dollars. I have also sold the whole of the personal estate which was inventoried for the Sum of five Dollars, amounting in all to Seventy seven Dollars. I hold s'd sum subject to the order of s'd Court to pay Debts and charges due from s'd estate. Said property was sold at private sale. Litchf'd May 15, 1830

      We the Subscribers being Appointed by the Hon'- Courte of Probate for the District of Litchfield to Appraise the Real and Personal Estate of Samuel Judson, late of Hiram, in the County of Portage & State of Ohio, deceased, which is situate in said District of Litchfield have Appraised the Real Estate of Said Judson Deceased as Follows vis-- One piece of Land lying in Litchfield in Said District containing Six acres, Bounded east by the Bull Farme, North on Miles Taylors Lands South & west on Eben Judsons Land. The above described Land in Appraised at twelve dollars Per acre..... $72.00
