Abigail Edwards was born in Trumbull, Connecticut, on Friday, November 8, 1754, baptized in Trumbull Congregational Church on Sunday, November 17, 1754, and died in Litchfield on January 21, 1819. He is the son of John, (Dea.) and Abigail (Fairchild) Judson. She is the daughter of Couch and Naomi (Sherwood) Edwards. They had five children:

i. Gersham Judson was born in Connecticut between 1775 and 1780. His birth date is inferred from census records. He married Sally Reading January 26, 1806, in Trumbull County, Ohio, per "Early Marriages of Trumbull County, Ohio". The "History of Portage County, Ohio", p. 471, states that the widower Gersham Judson married Sarah Redden in the fall of 1807. The 1810 census of Mantua Township, Portage County, lists Gerhsham with a family of five. The 1820 census of Portage County shows "Gashom" with males: 5 0–10y, 1 26–45y, 1 over 45y; females: 2 0–10y, 1 10–16y, and 2 26–45y. The 1830 census of Mantua Township shows "Gorshom" with males: 1 0–5y, 2 5–10y, 1 10–15y, 1 15–20y, 2 20–30y, 1 50–60y; females: 1 5–10y, and 2 15–20y.
ii. Enoch Judson was born in Connecticut before 1775. His birth date is inferred from census records. He married Anna Canada on March 26, 1804, in Trumbull, Portage County, Ohio. She died on July 2, 1804, having accidentally been given arsenic, the first recorded death in Portage County. He then married Rachel Cochran on March 2, 1806. She died in 1816. The 1810 census of Mantua Township, Portage County, shows Enoch Judson with a household of five. Early Portage County Marriage Records shows an Enoch Judson marrying Polly Rathburn on October 30, 1817.
iii. Samuel Judson [#40]: He was born in Connecticut in 1775-1785, and died in Hiram Township, Portage County, Ohio, on October 29, 1826.
iv. Eben Judson was born in 1786-7, and died in Litchfield on September 17, 1864. He married Polly Taylor. She was born in 1785–6 and died on February 8, 1873, in Litchfield. They are both buried in the East Burying Ground of Litchfield.
v. Anna Judson: She married Timothy Miller.

The brothers, Enoch, Samuel, and Gershom, came from Hartford, Connecticut, to Mantua Township, Portage County, Ohio, in about 1800 (per History of Portage County, Ohio p. 685). A Genealogical Register of Litchfield, Connecticut lists Elijah Judson and the five children in the order given above. It is this entry which ties Samuel Judson to his father and, therefore, ultimately back to the immigrant William Judson.
