Walter Gilbert Genealogy: Thomas Hull & Joane Peson

5232–5233. Thomas Hull was born in England in 1552, and died in Crewkerne, county Somerset, England, in December, 1636. He was buried on December 29, 1636, in Crewkerne. Joane Peson was born in Crewkerne in—say—1553, and died in Crewkerne in October, 1629. She was buried on October 30, 1629, in Crewkerne. They were married in Crewkerne on Sunday, January 11, 1572/3. She took the name Joane Hull. He is the son of Richard and Alice (_____) Hull. She is the daughter of Richard and Margery (Everedd?) Pysing. They had 11 children:

i.	William Hull was baptized in Crewkerne on November 6, 1574, and died in Devonshire, England, in 1627. He married Jane Sampson (daughter of Gregory Sampson) on December 5, 1603, in Colyton, Devonshire.
ii.	Mary Hull was baptized in Crewkerne on September 26, 1576, and died in 1584. She was buried on September 6, 1584.
iii.	Agnes Hull was baptized in Crewkerne. She was buried on February 11, 1578/9
iv.	Richard Hull was baptized in Crewkerne on November 21, 1579, and died in Crewkerne in March, 1596/7.
v.	Thomas Hull was baptized in Crewkerne on July 21, 1582.
vi.	Robert Hull was baptized in Crewkerne on November 8, 1584, and died in Crewkerne in 1597. He was buried on April 5, 1597
vii.	John Hull was baptized in Crewkerne on February 14, 1586/7, and died in Crewkerne in 1627. He married Edith _____. He was buried on October 10, 1627.
viii.	George Hull [#2616]: He was born in England and died in Fairfield, Connecticut Colony, about 1659.
ix.	Frances Hull was baptized in Crewkerne on February 13, 1591/2.
x.	Josias Hull was baptized in Crewkerne on April 15, 1595, and died in Crewkerne on April 15, 1595. He was buried one day after he was born.
xi.	Joseph Hull was baptized in Crewkerne on April 25, 1596, and died in Isle of Shoals, Maine, on November 19, 1665. He was a minister and brought over 100 people on an unknown ship from Weymouth, county Dorset, arriving in Boston on Mar 6, 1635. He married first, Joanna (Coffin?); they had seven children: Joanna, Joseph, Tristram, Temperance, Elizabeth, Grissell, and Dorothy. He married second, Agnes _____; they had 11 children: Hopewell, Benjamin, Naomi, Ruth, Sarah, Samuel, Reuben, Ephraim, Dodovah (female), Phineas and Priscilla. Thomas was a "pikeman" and brother Raymond a "billman" in a military unit when an invasion by Spain was feared.

Thomas's will was dated December 17, 1636, and proved February 10, 1636/7 (Archives of Taunton, 1636–1675). In addition to his children, his will mentioned John Ball, schoolmaster, and John Bere the elder.
