48–49.  Alexander Galbreath was born in Darke County, Ohio, on Monday, May 6, 1822, and died in Pierceton, Kosciusko County, Indiana, on September 9, 1874. Eliza Keltner was born in Preble County, Ohio, on Saturday, August 6, 1825, and died in Kosciusko County, Indiana, on December 19, 1893. They were married in West Baltimore (now Verona), Ohio, on Thursday, October 17, 1844. She took the name Eliza Galbreath. He is the son of John and Elizabeth (Aikman) Galbraith. She is the daughter of Henry and Katherine (Wirt) Keltner. They had ten children:

i. Nelson Reed Galbreath [#24]: He was born in Darke County on May 22, 1845, and died in Pierceton on March 27, 1891.
ii. Angeline Galbreath was born in Pierceton on March 3, 1847. She died in 1931; married (1): Jacob Deardorff, born 1842, died 1900, two children; married (2): William Shuder; married (3): Henry Kerr.
iii. Perry Galbreath: He was born September 8, 1848 and died January, 1850.
iv. Wilson S. Galbreath: He born October 27, 1850 and died December 5, 1874.
v. Ella Galbreath: She was born March 23, 1852 and died in 1929; married Joseph Williams, born 1850, died 1937, three children.
vi. Mariah Galbreath: She was born February 14, 1854 and died January 1, 1894; married (1): Alpheus Deardorff, (brother of Jacob), one child; married (2): Henry M. Maston, one child.
vii. _____: daughter, died in infancy.
viii. Martin Luther Galbreath: He was born May 12, 1857 and died November 18, 1920; married Ellen Puterbaugh, born 1864, died 1936, five children.
ix. Levi P. Galbreath: He was born March 9, 1859 and died 1923; resided in Pierceton, Ind.; married Amanda Workman, born 1859, died 1880, two children.
x. Freeman Knife Galbreath: He was born March 1, 1860 and died November 19, 1898; married Bertha Loutzenhizer Galbreath, widow of Justice Galbreath.

In May, 1852, Alexander took his family and moved from Montgomery County, Ohio, to Kosciusko County, Indiana, and built a cabin on ground from which he cut the first timber that had ever been taken.

Alexander's will was dated December 9, 1872, and is in Will Book 2, page 615, in Kosciusko County. In it are mentioned his wife, Eliza, and children Nelson R., Angeline, Wilson S., Ella, Mariah, Marlin S., Levi, and Freeman. Eliza was appointed guardian of the minor children. The witnesses were William Snyder and John C. Hoover.
