400–401. Abel Royce was born in Wallingford, Connecticut, on Wednesday, January 1, 1700/1, and died on September 6, 1769. Joanna Beach was born in Wallingford on Tuesday, October 9, 1705, and died in Wallingford on October 9, 1705. They were both buried in Bristol, Connecticut. They were married in Wallingford on Wednesday, October 23, 1723. She took the name Joanna Royce. He is the son of Samuel, (Deacon) and Hannah (Benedict) Royce. She is the daughter of Thomas and Phebe (Wilcoxon) Beach. They had 11 children:
