324–325. William Edwards was born in Fairfield, Connecticut, in—say—1691, and died before 1754. Abigail Couch was born in Fairfield on Wednesday, January 31, 1693/4, and baptized in Fairfield Church, Fairfield, Connecticut, on Sunday, May 3, 1696. They were married in Norwalk, Connecticut, on Monday, May 4, 1713. She took the name Abigail Edwards. He is the son of John and Mary (Hanford) Edwards. She is the daughter of Simon and Abigail (Sturgis) Couch. They had nine children:
