28B.  Andrew Jackson Youngblood was born in Cass County, Michigan, U.S.A., on Wednesday, April 5, 1837, and died in Volinia, Cass County, Michigan, U.S.A., on October 8, 1923. He died of typhoid pneumonia. Elsie Reames was born on Wednesday, May 11, 1842, and died in Volinia on December 15, 1918. She died of cerebral apoplexy. They were married in Cass County on Wednesday, October 25, 1865. She took the name Elsie Youngblood. He is the son of Peter Demoss and Mary Ann (Pollock) Youngblood. She is the daughter of Aaron and Lavina (Zane) Reames. Aaron Reames was born in North Carolina, Lavina Zane was born in Kentucky. They had eight children:

ii.	Benjamin Franklin Youngblood was born in Cass County in 1867-8.
iii.	Irving Youngblood was born in Cass County on July 12, 1869, and died on May 4, 1943. He never married. He was known for having all gold teeth.
iv.	Edith J. Youngblood was born in Cass County on December 12, 1872. Edith Youngblood She married John Hamilton Root; they had six children: Charles Dickens, 1898–1976; a baby who died shortly after birth; Alice {married Ellsworth Monette} 1902–1985; John Norman, 1903–1988 Andrew Jackson, 1907–1989;Andrew Jackson Root Nancy, 1911–1929.
v.	Mary Ellen Youngblood was born in Cass County on July 2, 1873, and died in Penn Township, Cass County, Michigan, U.S.A., on November 20, 1949. She never married. [All from Cass County records.]
vi.	Mark Youngblood was born in Cass County on October 15, 1877. He went to Minnesota.

viii.	Nettie Youngblood was born in Volinia on May 17, 1886. She was listed as the 8th child of this mother in Cass County vital records. She married _____ Walter; they separated. She lived in Kalamazoo on Parkview in a tarpaper covered house. Later she lived on Walnut Street near Portage where she rented rooms to men. One of her roomers, Ernest Pierce, helped her much when she was sick. She sold her cemetery lot and was buried beside him.

Andrew J. Youngblood fought in the Civil War. The Civil War Pension Index of Ancestry.com has a copy of his pension index. It states that he was in the "Corp 3 Indpt. Battery Ohio L. Art; F 4 Ohio Inf.". On March 4, 1897, he applied for a pension. His application number was 1,188,148 and his certificate number was 949,579, from Ohio.
