2670–2671.  Thomas Bulkley was baptized in Odell, county Bedford, England, on Sunday, April 13, 1617, and died in Fairfield, Connecticut, in 1658. Sarah Jones of Fairfield, Connecticut was born in 1620, and died in 1683. He is the son of Peter, (Rev.) and Jane (Allen) Bulkeley. She is the daughter of John, (Rev.) and Sarah (_____) Jones. They had five children:

i. Sarah Bulkley [#1335]: She was born in Fairfield on August 12, 1640, and died in 1723.
ii. John Bulkley was born in Concord, Connecticut, about 1642, and died in February, 1709. He married Esther Burr in 1683.
iii. Hannah Bulkley was born in Concord about 1646. She married Matthew Sherman.
iv. Joseph Bulkley was born in Concord about 1648, and died in 1719. He married Martha Beers.
v. Rebecca Bulkley was born in Concord about 1652, and died in 1690. She married Joseph Whelpley.

Her second marriage was to Anthony Wilson.

The estate of Thomas Bulkley was inventoried June 4, 1658. In it is mentioned his widow, two sons, and an unspecified number of daughters; all children were minors. The overseers were Mr. Hill and Mr. Hull.

The will of Sarah Wilson, "sometimes Sarah Bulkley", was dated April 26, 1677; a codicil was added on February 15, 1680, and it was proved on January 2, 1683/4. In it are mentioned: daughter Sarah, wife of Eleazer Browne of New Haven; daughter Rebecca, wife of Joseph Whelplie of Fairfield; daughter Hannah; sister-in-law, Mr. Eliphalet Jones's wife; sister Elizabeth Hill; and two sons, John and Joseph Bulkley. The overseers were her brother-in-law, Mr. Gershom Bulkeley of Wethersfield, and Samuel Wakeman. Witnesses were Gershom Bulkley and Israel Chauncey.

On February 15, 1672, Joseph Bulkley recorded in the land records that he had received land from his mother, Sarah Wilson, of which the first parcel was the homelot given to Mr. Thomas Bulkley (his father), deceased, by the will of his brother, Daniel Bulkley, deceased. On March 10, 1683/4, sons John and Joseph Bulkley made an agreement to divide the lands of their mother's estate.
