Eglin Hatherly was born in England in 1587-1588. They were married in Fremington on Sunday, March 31, 1611. She took the name Eglin Hanford. She is the daughter of Robert and Elinor (Tanner) Hatherly. They had five children:

i. Susannah Hanford was born in England in 1615, and died after 1682. She married John Whiston in about 1635 then William Brooks in about 1640, both in Scituate.
ii. Lettice Hanford was born in Alverdiscott, county Devon, England, and died in Plymouth Colony, Massachusetts, on February 22, 1690/91. She married Edward Foster on April 8, 1635; performed by Miles Standish. His name also appears as Edward Faunce. She married Edward Jenkins after 1644.
iii. Margaret Hanford was born in England in 1619, and died in Barnstable, Massachusetts, on June 13, 1649. She married Isaac Robinson in 1636. She had a daughter who was born and died on June 6, 1649; her death was probably related to this. Isaac married a second time in 1650 to Mary Faunce, Margaret's brother-in-law's sister.
iv. Elizabeth Hanford was born in England in 1621, and died in Massachusetts in 1708.
v. Thomas Hanford [#1298]: He was born in Alverdiscott Parish on July 22, 1621, and died in Norwalk, Connecticut, in 1693.
