196–197. Michael Keltner was born in Northampton County, Pennsylvania, on Friday, January 25, 1760, and died in Harrison Township, Union County, Indiana, on April 19, 1833. His wife was Margaret Ripplet He is the son of Michael and Elizabeth (Roth) Kelchner. They had ten children:

He married first, Elizabeth Wert, the daughter of Peter and Mary (Rex) Wirt. They had six children: Minerva, Susanna Christina, Dion Bierney, Mary Margaret, Abraham Washington, and Jacob Hamilton Keltner. He married second, Eliza Jane Anderson; they had five children: Matilda, John A., Washington Henry, Sanford Marion, and Hattie Jane Keltner. | |
| ix. | Jacob M. Keltner was born in Allegheny Township, Huntington County, Pennsylvania, on October 12, 1810, and died in Union County, Ohio. He is buried in Silver Creek Cemetery, Union County. Jacob does not appear in The Descendants of John and Elizabeth Aikman Galbreath, but does appear in the other sources. He married first, Hannah Melser; they had four children: William, Mary Jane, John M., and Sylvester Keltner. He married second Catherine Geesy; they had eight children: Henry, Isaac, Amanda, Abraham M., Sarah M., James A., Milton F. and Albert Keltner. | |
| x. | Susan Keltner was born in Pennsylvania about 1813. She married James Simpson on 12 March 1835; they had ten children: Amanda, Nancy (23), Thomas T. (22), Sarah (16) Margaret (18), James Monroe (14), George W. (12), Mary E. (10), Florence (7), and Ida Simpson. (Her birth date comes from the 1860 census of Union County, Indiana; the ages of the children are from the same census.) |
It is interesting to note that four of the Keltner brothers, Henry, Joseph,
Abraham, and Michael, married four Wert sisters, Katherine, Susan, Elizabeth,
and Sallie, respectively.
