102–103. James Chaplin was born in Lunenburgh Township, Worcester County, Massachusetts, on Tuesday, July 6, 1784, and died in Washington Township, Kosciusko County, Indiana, on May 6, 1865. Sarah Atherton Whitney was born in Harvard, Massachusetts, on Sunday, September 2, 1787, and died in Kosciusko County, Indiana, on December 31, 1858. They were married on Wednesday, November 11, 1807. She took the name Sarah Atherton Chaplin. He is the son of David and Prudence (Pierce) Chaplin. She is the daughter of John and Hannah (Atherton) Whitney. An unknown number of children were born, but included:
