From Wired News:
"The Russian Nesting Doll of Games. The object of The Sims, a popular video game, is to keep the characters happy in their daily lives. Now comes a fan-made plug-in that lets the in-game characters amuse themselves by -- what else? -- playing the SimCity video game. By Daniel Terdiman."

Posted by mgk at February 14, 2004 02:43 PMMy 8 nieces and nephews under 14 are all devoted Sims players. I can hardly wait to find out if they know about SimSlice -- and what they think of it. My guess, based on the thumbnails included with the story is that they are all going to be (or already are) madly enthusiastic. The Nesting Dolls notion is a fun metaphor to bring to it, but I think it doesn't look closely enough at the material textuality issues going on here. Anyhow, off to play a little of it myself...
