nah, nothing much at all....... 30 years from now, it won't even have been noteworthy to most people.

Probably because most people will look at you in wonder when you describe this place you used to go in order to get books.

What is this "library" of which you speak?

I don't know... this project smells a little like a costly boondoggle. "Lost in La Mancha" or "The Key to All Mythologies." It will never be done, even by a company that is otherwise known for its ability to do what seems impossible.

In my view, the libraries should start doing this themselves, and selling access. That would be a much smarter model than simply trying to put it all online.

That this day will likely not resonate loudly brings my attention to the last time I heard this comment, when Amazon started doing the same sort of thing with its searchable text. I assume the technology is similar, but the business model is different.

I wonder how that Amazon feature is being used . . .
