Sniper: The Movie

Last night I watched part of the cable TV movie on the DC-area sniper shootings. I was here and lived it, so I’ve earned the right to some trash TV. Anyway, the most unintentionally funny line in the movie was when, during that terrible first morning, the police are trying to figure out if there’s a pattern to how the killer is moving so easily through the area and one of the detectives yells out “He must be using the Beltway!” All but one of the first day’s shootings, you’ll recall, took place during the morning rush hour, and anyone who’s ever sat in the parking lot that is the Capital Beltway at rush hour knows why this one’s a howler.
