“The Effect of Screen Size on Internet Access Using Three Different Portable Devices”
Instructions for the Observer
Set up the three devices so that they are all on.
Make sure each device is set to the appropriate font, resolution, etc.
Prepare each device so that the appropriate experiment page is already loaded.
Set up the stopwatch so that it is ready for use.
Briefly explain the task for each device.
Ask if the subjects have any questions.
Ask each subject to read and sign the “Experiment Consent Agreement”.
Ask each subject to fill out the “Background Survey” sheet.
Present the subject with one device at a time, and follow these instructions for each device:
Start the stopwatch as soon as the subject starts the task. (If there is more than one subject being tested at the same time, be sure to record each one of the subject’s times for task completion.)
Record subjective observations.
Stop the stopwatch when the subject is done with the task. Record the time completion of the task to the nearest second.
Ask the subjects to fill out the “User Satisfaction” survey.
Thank them for spending the time to complete the tasks.
